In mishnah berakhot, perek daled, mishnah daled, Rabbi Eliezer warns that a person who makes their tefillah fixed or routine is not truly praying in a genuine, heartfelt way. Therefore, a person should find time for personal and spontaneous prayer. After learning this mishnah in our rabbinics class, a 6th grade student remarked, "That's like Siddur Sababa- it lets us combine the keva and the personal prayer in one place." It's at this point that we realized the students really are connecting to Siddur Sababa! --- J. Shapiro, Solomon Schechter Day School Bergen County February 28, 2008 |
